Agnus Dei, the designation of Jesus Christ in Christian liturgical usage is based on the words of John the Baptist: “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29) referring to Jesus as the sacrificial Lamb who takes away the sins of humanity through His death and resurrection. We present a rare, light and delicate, 1/2-inch, gold tone vintage Agnus Dei medal in a cathedral window shape featuring an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on one side surrounded by the words, "O My Jesus Have Mercy on Me" with Agnus Dei inscribed at the base of the medal. On the other side, an image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary is inscribed with, "Sweet Heart of Mary Pray for Me" with Ave Maria inscribed at the bottom. The petite Scapular medal flows from an 18-inch, 1.3 mm, 14K gold filled sparkly flat cable chain.
A vintage Agnus Dei cushioned heart with hand embroidered edge is included.
