From the earliest days of Christianity, relics associated with Jesus as well as bones, clothing, and items left behind by the martyrs and other saints have been venerated by the faithful. Third class relics are items such as prayer cards, oils, rosaries and medals that are touched to sacred relics. Miraculous Revival is excited to offer a vintage 5/8-inch, gold toned aluminum* Holy Face of Jesus medal along with special prayer card that has been touched to a relic of the Holy Shroud (Turin) of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Holy Face of Jesus medal became famous after 1940 for the miracles and spiritual favors associated with its use. One side has the image of the Holy Face and the Latin words, lllumina Domine Vultum Tuum Super Nos, May the Light of Your Face, O Lord, Shine Upon Us. On the other side an engraving of the sacred host, the letters IHS and the Latin title, Mane nobiscum Domine, Stay with Us O Lord. The medal is strung on an 18-inch, 18K gold vermeil satellite chain. The relic holy card is included.
*Aluminum is light weight, free from corrosion and easy to wear. Early in its history, it valued higher than gold. Aluminum is similar in appearance to silver and was widely used in European coins and medals as the medium allows for detailed and long-lasting imagery.
